Artist, Musician, Producer

          TJ Adorno is an artist, guitarist, emcee, producer, and song writer from Queens, New York. He has been active in NYC's creative music scenes since 2014, performing in the genres of Hip Hop, Jazz, Rnb, and Rock, Pop, Funk, and more. He first developed a passion for the performing arts at age 10 when he started studying the guitar. TJ would later attend NYC’s prestigious LaGuardia Arts High School where he studied instumental and vocal music. While attending, TJ played guitar for the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra weekly program, and also for Kaufman Center's Face the Music group. Before graduating, he performed at various venues including: Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Bowl, and Roulette Brooklyn where he also debuted an original composition with Face the Music.

          He went on to study briefly at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where he composed extensively in the genres of Jazz and Hip Hop. His debut EP entitled “XII” (Feb. 2018) showcased his talents as a composer, guitarist, musical director, and producer. The project was a one time collaboration with NYC based QNA band (2015-2018), which was recorded at HighBreedMusic in Brooklyn. TJ exhibited these original compositions in venues throughout NYC, and toured the Mid West in the summers of 2016 and 2017. During that time TJ also performed and collaborated with NYC based Hip Hop artists including: Frank Knight, Oshun, Mike Larry Draw, Chelsea Reject, Latasha Alcindor, among others. 

          In 2018 TJ completed his Bachelors degree in Music Performance at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory for Music, where he studied Jazz Guitar with the late Vic Juris and John Abercrombie. During his college years TJ formed his band the SidePocket, which blends modern hip hop rhythms with a live jazz instrumentation.

          Currently, TJ performs under the stage name TEEJ as a solo artist, and with his band the SidePocket- featuring his talents as a bandleader, guitarist, emcee, and composer. He has headlined events at NYC venues including: The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Pine Box Rock Shop, and more. His debut EP “The SidePocket” was released in August 2020, and is available on all streaming platforms.  In October 2021 he debuted his project "TEEJ's Room", an interdisciplinary arts experience which showcased live music and art performaces. His newest project "The SidePocket 2" released February 2022, with accompanying documentary and "Bad Habits" music video.
